The authors have studied the effect of the nature of a metallosilicate support on the activity and selectivity of a 20% Co/MSi_(2.5)O_x catalyst (where M = Al, Fe, La, Co, Ce, Ni) in the synthesis of hydrocarbons from CO and H_2. It is shown that the most efficient sample is one based on cobalt silicate (CoSi_(2.5)O_x). The yield of liquid hydrocarbons obtained in its presence is 155 g/m~3 of synthesis-gas with a selectivity of 87% with respect to their formation. X-Ray phase analysis was used to study the phase composition of 20% Co/MSi_(2.5)O_x catalysts before and after the occurrence of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. It has been found that metallosilicates formed during the preparation of Co-catalysts by impregnation are X-ray amorphous.
