This is a report from a one-day workshop on "Information Systems in Distributed Environments" (ISDE), which was organized in conjunction with the OTM Conferences 2009 in Vilamoura, Portugal, on November 3, 2009. The main focus of this workshop was to provide a venue for the discussion of challenges related to the development, operation, and maintenance of distributed information systems, and their creation in the context of global development projects.
