I join Neno in wishing everyone a very happy 2018! In this issue of SEN, alongside our regularly accepted papers, you'll also find the proceedings of the 15~(th) International Doctoral Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering (IDoESE 2017). I would also like to draw your attention to the second of our new column series highlighting software engineering work from China-in this issue, Huaimin Wang discusses work in crowdsourcing software development and the TRUSTIE system.
