The agile age has inspired many people and organizations to think about their software development processes—and their value. For years, common knowledge dictated that process was applicable for large organizations, but that it slowed down the development team. Both ideas are incorrect, but the approach to process saw no widespread modification until the agile movement became popular. With the agile advent, things began to change. Existing process products, such as the Rational Unified Process (RUP), produced new instances directed at agile teams, and new tools for helping teams adopt agile methods appeared.
