In an email conversation with Dr. Gary Fogel, an avid soaring enthusiast and radio control sailplane pilot, I learned the last time Soaring Magazine devoted pages to modeling was in 1968, when the subject was explored by Dale Willoughby.rnModeling has changed a lot since then and, as in full scale, composite structures have become the norm in both thermal duration as well as competition F3B, F3J and handlaunch, as well as scale models.
