Nutmeg Soaring Association (NSA) Celebrating 60 Years of Soaring

Originally founded in 1956 in CT (Nutmeg is CT's nickname), Nutmeg Soaring Association, a chap-ter of the Soaring Society of America (SSA), is a private, volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to teach-ing and enjoying the art, science, and safety of flying sailplanes. Set near the Catskill Mountains and adjacent to the beautiful Catskill Creek, the Free-hold Airport is owned by Freehold Airport, LLC and operated by NSA. The NSA owns ten aircraft hangars, four sailplanes (three of which are high performance models), and lever- ages two towplanes (one owned by the club and one leased from a member). For those who fly in for a weekend vis-it, tie-downs are available on the field.
