A petition asking the White House to prevent Myron Ebell from leading President-elect Donald Trump’s U.S. EPA transition team was just over 3,000 signatures away from a goal of 100,000 before it was removed from the internet and dubbed in violation of the website’s terms of participation. Had the petition reached 100,000 signatures on the “We the People” website - an online platform initiated by President Barack Obama that lets Americans submit petitions to the government - it would have been brought before White House officials for review and comment.
