California sheet metal veteran Bob Dak was well on his way to a career in dentistry when he decided took another path to the unionized trades instead. Now, with decades of experience, he is one of the sheet metal industry's top testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) professionals."We are very lucky to have Bob at our training center," says Lance Clark, administrator for the Southern California Sheet Metal JATC. If there is anyone devoted to the further development of the testing and balancing industry, it is Dak, he says."Bob teaches beginning and intermediate TAB classes two nights a week, teaches the Title 24 classes and mentors other TAB teachers. He's the lead TAB lab instructor, proctors TAB practical tests and maintains the TAB lab certificates of standards. All this while serving as the deputy inspector for Fire Life Safety for the city of Los Angeles and working as the TAB supervisor for So Cal Testing and Balancing."
