Development of the Warsaw Metro CBTC system

The rmCBTC system is designed for urban railways including metro systems, private railways and shunting yards. The first pilot installation of this system is in the Warsaw Metro. Deployment of this system will improve transport capacity, operating conditions and increase the safety level. The rmCBTC system meets the above-mentioned requirements and all functional ones applicable to the most advanced CBTC (Communication Based Traffic Control) systems. It is designed to provide safe two-way traffic of trains within the controlled area as well as ATP (Automatic Train Protection), ATO (Automatic Train Operation) and ATS (Automatic Train Supervision) functionalities. Moreover, it provides automation of traffic control at the GoA 3 (Grade of Automation) and, ultimately, GoA 4 level.
