Grant will help Mission grow more diverse volunteer base

A£110,000 grant from Seafarers UK will help The Mission to Seafarers grow its volunteer base in the UK. The funding will be used to develop a new volunteering outreach strategy to increase the number of young people and female volunteers, as well as people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds. It follows research by the Mission which suggests that engaging a more diverse volunteer base will help to improve the services it offers by better reflecting the needs of the diverse seafaring community.
