Greater throughput, faster sampling, and better consistency in multicolor printing are just a few reasons why large-format inline presses are more appealing than single-color machines. But most inline models have a disadvantage over single-color presses in two key areas: monitoring and controlling the printing process. Inline presses are so large that operators can't see what's going on at each station, and on many models, the operators must go to each printhead to verify or adjust press settings. By the time an operator discovers a registration error or other improper setting, the press may have already churned out a costly amount of unusable prints. And the delays created when operators must visit each station individually to make adjustments further drain the machine's productivity.
