Producers of television programs on science have to do the impossible. Get the slightest detail wrong, and scientists howl. Fail to dress up the show with pulsating eye candy and MTV-style fast cuts, and the "viewing public" will surf right past to the lat-est reality show. So who in their right mind would want to try to explain complex science on TV? Fortunately the producers of NOVA have kept up their notably good work for the benefit of us sentient couch potatoes. They get it almost entirely right with The Elegant Universe, a three-part series on the latest and most recondite advances in physics.
