Making Energy Count

摘要

Energy influences the rates of chemical reactions dramatically. Simply heating a reaction mixture deposits energy indiscriminately in internal and trans-lational motion, but more specific excitation can change the course of a reaction. The challenge is to distinguish the effect of these different types of energy.
