POSTDOCTORAL OPENINGS in Biophotonics/Optics and Cellular/Molecular Biology

At least two fully funded postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the group of Professor Valerica Raicu at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee (WI, USA). For one of the positions, a Ph.D. in cell biology or related areas is required, together with experience in molecular biology methods and techniques. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in making fusion constructs between fluorescent proteins and membrane receptors and exhibiting interest in fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) imaging. For the second opening, the candidate should be a Ph.D. in physics or a related field, and should have hands-on experience in design and construction of optical setups using lasers, optics, and optical detectors. Familiarity with computer-interfacing of laboratory machines and experience with two-photon microscopes is desirable. The initial appointment for both position types is for one year with the possibility for renewal in the following years, subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance by the candidate.
