ASIMO, a Robot and Interpreter

On January 13, 2002, ASIMO, the robot made noises about joined the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (MeSci) as a full-time exhibition staff member. In the welcoming ceremony, Dr. Mamoru Mohri, the director of MeSci, handed a letter of appointment and a uniform emblazoned with MeSci's logo to ASIMO, who lifted up its hands in a gesture of delight.
