The "Third Life Science Summit -Toward the Industrialization of Biotechnology and its Economic Activation" was held on October 21, 2002. On this occasion almost 700 leading personalities from the fields of politics, government, the universities and industry who are engaged in developments at the fore-front of the life sciences and bio-industries assembled in Tokyo. They exchanged opinions on the fusion of the life sciences and technologies in other fields as well as considering specific issues and measures for the rapid industrialization of the results of life science research.
