Global Warming Prevention Measures in Japan

The ultimate goal of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is "to achieve stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system." Fulfilling the reduction commitments stipulated in the Kyoto Protocol would only be the first step toward this ultimate goal. Needless to say, it is not easy to fulfill these reduction commitments, but the government needs to tackle this issue by coordinating all of the relevant forces, so that this challenge may create new industries and employment opportunities and bring a new vitality to the Japanese economy and society.
