New International Graduate University Scheduled for Okinawa

Aiming for realization of an academic research institution that will be the best in the world, the New Graduate University Project Office of the Okinawa Development and Promotion Bureau, Cabinet Office is pushing forward with the Koizumi government commitment to establish the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). The graduate institution is expected to bring together top-tier academics like the Nobel Laureates in medicine/physiology and physics, in order to advance integrated research and educational work which centers upon leading-edge scientific fields such as biology, molecular science and nanotechnology.
