Metal Welding Succeeds underconditions of Microgravity and High-Vacuum

A group organized jointly by the Joining Welding Research In stitute, Osaka University and the Institute of Advanced Energy, Kyoto University, has succeeded in welding metals by using electron beams in an environment of near weightlessness (microgravity) and under conditions of high vacuum with a financial support from New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization through Japan Space Utilization Center.
