Comprehensive Product Safety in the Automobile Industry

(1)Two years have passed since the enforcement of the Product Liability Law (PL Law) on July 1, 1995. The effects of the PL Law on private business and the actions and countermeasures taken by business with regard to the law were reported almost every day in the media at the time of the enforcement of the law. This report is intended to review the comprehensive product safety measures taken by the Japanese automobile industry in the past two years.
