Social science research: Research contexts and policy knowledge: Linking social science research and Evironmental policy

摘要

The UK Economic and Social Research Coun- cil's Global Environmental Change (GEC) re- search programme aims "to take the social sciences to the heart of environmental debate and to bring the environment to the heart of the social sciences". Thc experience of researchers working within the GEC programme highlights the need for a much better understanding of what this might mean in practice in the light of the diverse academic and policy contests within which socio-environmental knowledge is pro- duced and communicated.
