Emergent model: A policy for science innovation: the New Zealand experience

Tis paper explores the characteristics of Sci- ence and Technology poikcy for today's ad- vanced industrial societies. Is counterposes two distinct models the traditional and the emer- gent, for the production of new knowledge (sci- ence innovation) and examines the policy implications of each. Five dimensions are drawn out from this analysis and are then ap- plied to a case study based on recent policy reforms in the New Zealand science sector.
