Technology transfer: Role of the university in the technology Transfer process: a European view

摘要

Studies have examined the contributions made by universities to technological development in industry from the viewpoint of the recipient firm. However, very little detailed examination has been made of the proactive role that the university can play in developing strong link- ages with industry, or of the strategies and poli- cies that are undertaken to increase the process of technology transfer from academia into local indigenous business. Using three specific cases, this paper examines the role that universities play in regional economic development.
