Special issue: Selected papers from the 12th International Conference on Quality Software (QSIC 2012)

Quality Assurance (QA) is gaining more and more attention from practitioners over the years, as demonstrated by recent studies and reports. The recently published data by the World Quality Report 2013-2014, jointly published by Capgemini, Sogeti, and HP, for example reports that the proportion of the overall IT budgets allocated to quality increased from 18% in 2012, to 23% in 2013, with an expectation to reach the 28% in 2015. In line with the industrial needs of increased quality assurance, the QSIC series of international conferences on Quality Software has a long tradition of bringing together researchers and practitioners to present and discuss innovative methods of assuring software and system qualities.
