There were several new entries in the chart for February 2008, with half of the chart occupied by a surge of trojan variants. The issue of hybrid malware, where trojans are used as a back door entry for malicious programs, has continued with Kaspersky tracking several Trojan-Downloaders that have installed the notorious Virtumonde program on victims' computers. Dial-up users in particular must remain vigilant, taking account of security best practices.
