The goals behind the Month of Browser Bugs project (MoBB) and others that followed, were established to draw attention to security flaws in a particular area. The work behind the MoBB resulted in hundreds of bug fixes across all major browsers. Within months of the MoBB project, InternetrnExplorer 7 was released with a default configuration that blocked all but a few ActiveX controls by default.
