The Barracuda Networks Web Application Firewall can protect vital web applications from possible exploit by hackers. This appliance protects many applications, including Outlook Web Access, SharePoint, Oracle, FTP, XML and SOA, as well as custom applications within the environment. This product also features a virus scanner for file uploads and direct integration with security information and event management (SIEM) devices. We found this appliance to be easy to deploy and configure. It sits inline, between the router and various web servers, to ensure full protection. Once the tool is deployed and the management IP address is set, all management is done via the web-based management interface, which we found to be well-organized with its easy-to-navigate tab-top structure.
