Advanced high power GaN SSPAs for very high data rates over satellite

The SATCOM industry is currently in a state of flux. There is an excess of capacity worldwide, a significant customer migration to cellular carriers, and massive deployments of fibre, among other challenges. At the same time, there is great opportunity for those who want to demonstrate leadership in the industry. The solution will be facilitating much higher data rate transmissions at a fraction of current costs. Advantech Wireless Technologies introduced Gallium Nitrate (GaN) technology into Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) design in 2010. This technology has been successful in the past and will represent significant potential for the entire SATCOM market in 2019 and beyond.
