Princess Cruises is engaged in thernoverhaul of its standard for the securing of furnishings on board its vessels. This follows the release of a report on an incident that saw cruise ship Pacific Sun roll heavily in gale force winds during a journey in the South Pacific in July 2008. Unsecured furnishings and loose objects were thrown around the vessel, causing chaos on board. Of the 2,401 passengers and crew on the vessel, 77 sustained injuries - seven of them serious.
