Accurate long-range underwater navigation should be made easier in harsh environments, especially low-light or turbid water conditions, according to Kongsberg Maritime, manufacturer of the OE13-124 BIT, a new-generation low-light underwater camera. The new camera is claimed to deliver unprecedented light sensitivity, image quality and range performance. The manufacturer also states that it incorporates the highest levels of temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, over-voltage and electromagnetic compatibility protection. Compared with first-generation EMCCD sensors, it is said to deliver up to six-times the light efficiency in water.
