New Continuous Compression Stress Relaxation Test for Evaluation of sealant Materials in Cyclic Temperature Environments

A new continuous compression stress relaxation test method has been developed for evaluating elastomeric materials for sealing applications. During a test, the elas- tomer component is compressed at various strain levels under precise displacement control. The sealing force is recorded continuously at a finite time interval.
