It is shown that the color of emission from ZnS:Mn thin-film electroluminescent structures can be controlled by changing an applied ac voltage. The emission peak is shifted from 574 to 610 nm with increasing the ac voltage by 10V(from 128 to 138 V). The color changes at liquid-nitrogen temperature and does not at room temperature. This effect is explained by the transfer of the excitation energy from isolated Mn ions to their complexes with intrinsic defects.
