摘要

Installing high-power controllable shunting reactors (CSR) is expedient as a mean of stabilizing the voltage levels in (330-500)-kV grids with minimal load. The basic economic benefits of the CSR are noted. A special procedure for optimal placement of a limited number of reactors in a grid so as to absorb the excess reactive power is described.
