摘要

High-speed controllable safety devices based on triggered vacuum spark gaps are proposed; the triggered spark gaps are capable of rapidly (a few microseconds) switching on and transmitting currents of tens of kiloamperes. The possibility of using such devices for voltage- and current-surge protection in the basic equipment of thyristor-controlled longitudinal compensators is discussed. A computational model of a highspeed safety device is developed; the equivalent circuit of the device and its components is selected for the most severe operating conditions of the compensator.
