Use of Active Sources of Reactive Power for Power-Flow Control in Electrical Networks

Methods for regulating current in a high-voltage power-transmission line using active and hybrid reactive-power sources are considered. A circuit of a series hybrid source of reactive power based on a dc/acvoltage thyristor converter with inductive energy storage is proposed. The device provides line power regulation with high indices of current quality. The main parameters of the parallel circuit of a passive filter are determined.
