HFI: In 1947, you earned your helicopter and seaplane ratings. You received instruction by Carl Brady in the Seattle area. Stratford: I did have one hour of instruction from Carl Brady, just after he received his rating. Good experience for both of us. Tommy Hall was my primary instructor in 1947. A wonderful pilot, but he did not continue in aviation. I had little instruction after that. But fortunately I lucked out with my career - having no accidents and no regrets!
