摘要

A new study, 'Modular peptides promote human mesenchymal stem cell differentiation on biomaterialnsurfaces,' is now available. According to recent research published in the journal Acta Biomaterialia,n"Molecular design strategies in biomedical applications often involve creating modular 'fusion' proteins, innwhich distinct domains within a single molecule can perform multiple functions. We have synthesized annew class of modular peptides that include a biologically active sequence derived from the growth factornBMP-2 and a series of hydroxyapatite-binding sequences inspired by the N-terminal alpha-helix ofnosteocalcin."
