According to the authors of recent research from Bellaterra, Spain, "Recent progress in the field ofnhuman action recognition points towards the use of Spatio-Temporal Interest Points (STIPs) for localndescriptor-based recognition strategies. In this paper, we present a novel approach for robust andnselective STIP detection, by applying surround suppression combined with local and temporalnconstraints."
