A duo of female HGV drivers have trained almost a dozen people who attended a taster day for truck driving. The candidates will be considered for jobs by Mark Thompson Transport. Horsepower is the brainchild of drivers Nathalie Axon and Jan Carter whose main goal is to introduce women to the possibilities of truck driving. Axon says she promoted the Mark Thompson taster day heavily amongst ground staff and security staff at local RDCs and found many who were earning little over the minimum wage and who were keen to consider a career change.
