Special issue: Other ways of looking at transport planning

摘要

This special issue of Road and Transport Research features a selection of papers based on presentations at an international conference 'Sustainable Transport in the Asia-Indo-Pacific: Varied Contexts Common Aims' at the University of Melbourne, 2-4 June 2010. The conference was sponsored by GAMUT (The Centre for the Governance and Management of Urban Transport, a Volvo Centre of Excellence headquartered at the University of Melbourne, embodying Japanese, Australian, Chinese and Indian partners). The broad aim of the conference was to promote a dialogue between policy stakeholders, researchers and academics, and advocacy groups involved in understanding and promoting sustainable urban transport across our broader region, and communicate some of the lessons learned in the first five years of GAMUT.
