In 2011 the New Zealand Government established the Road Maintenance Task Force to identify opportunities to increase the effectiveness of road maintenance. The aim was to find efficiencies in delivery of operations, road maintenance and renewals, including innovative services, products and methods of procurement, and methods to encourage their consistent uptake nationally.
