Global traffic growth modelling

In a companion report to its Research Report No. 127, the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) examines the trends in the growth of road traffic in 25 countries around the world. As in the Australian review, it was found that growth in traffic (all vehicle types) per capita has consistently slowed in most countries, with many of the countries at or approaching a plateau. The patterns in the models that were developed are consistent between countries. Similar findings and applications for the data to those found in Australia are put forward.
