Ann Kuhns is the consummate home shopper. From the comfort of her southeastern Pennsylvania abode, this 50-ish woman frequently plunks down in her favorite recliner, flips the channel to QVC and waits for her favorite "shows" to come on. She watches the schedules carefully, keeping an eye out for anything made by Etienne Aigner, the channel's Quacker Factory Clothing line, and just about any type of jewelry. Kuhns' buying pace quickens around the holidays, when everything from Kansas City Barbecue products to Dooney & Bourke wallets are transformed into gifts. Without a computer at home, Kuhns is what you would call a "true" home TV shopper. And while she dreams of a day when she might be able to access all of the items, at any time, online, she also enjoys the entertainment value that the television provides. She sticks to her TV routine, calling in like any good DRTV customer would, placing orders and even sharing stories about her favorite buys on the air. When asked about her recent home shopping ventures, Kuhns' answer is usually, "Yep, I'm waiting for a box from QVC right now!"
