Curbside collection participation: Influences and motivations

Research on what influences and motivates participation in curbside collection programs is scarce, and the majority of what is available analyzes programs that are one year old or less. In 2000. the Solid Waste Services Department in Austin. Texas commissioned a survey to measure attitudes, beliefs, behaviors and attributes of participants and nonparticipants in the city's 19-year old curbside collection program. The purpose was to gain insights into the factors that influence whether a citizen participates in the curbside collection program.
