Scrap prices rose about $10 per metric ton in September, then slipped back down by about $25 per ton in both October and November, due to rising mill scrap inventories, somewhat lower scrap export orders from Chinese mills and weakening domestic steel demand.rnRising investor interest in copper on the commodity exchanges has pushed the value of the red metal higher. Copper is traded in U.S. dollars, and the continuing low value of the dollar has attracted speculators to commodity markets, thus moving copper prices.
