摘要

Effectively sorting and processing recovered plastics at materials recovery facilities (MRFs) and paper plants is a persistent challenge. After all, discarded plastics are often commingled with mixed paper processing, if not explicitly bound to paper products in the form of packaging. Furthermore, plastic materials, particularly plastic bags, are notorious for their ability to confound MRF sorting equipment, thus increasing labor and maintenance costs and reducing the overall efficiency of such facilities.
