Detection of a meal and/or kiln flash by means of a fill level monitoring device on a hot material conveyor

During the cement manufacture hot clinker is transported from the cooler to the clinker silo on hot material conveyors. Apron conveyors, belt apron conveyors and steel box conveyors are mainly used as hot material conveyors. In order to guarantee a long service life of the conveying systems, the conveying system must not be operated in an overfilled state. A conveying system is considered overfilled when the cell filling level exceeds 100%. The fill level in the cells or in the boxes rises to such an extent that the material conveyed rolls back unintentionally or is lost during the conveying process. The steeper the conveying system, the lower the critical fill level in the cell/box. In addition to the loss of the material conveyed, the overfilled conveying system may also cause damages to the drive station at the discharge point.
