A method for monitoring the air traffic preceding an aircraft to improve descent and approach procedures using ADS-B live stream data processing

The present invention is related to an air traffic-monitoring method and device that an aircraft uses to improve the predictability of the flight path during the descent and approach phases while landing in a certain airport. The method consists of a real-time monitoring device using ADS-B data string transmitted by proceeding aircraft landing in the same airport, which actual trajectory is analyzed through a dedicated computer device (located on ground). From this analysis, altitude, speed and lateral constraints are identified and transmitted back to the target aircraft. The constraints are then updated into the Flight Management System in order to optimize the approach trajectory. Generally, a flight management system (FMS) of an aircraft, in particular a transport aircraft, implements, among other things, various functions such as navigation, planning and flight, performance calculations as well as lateral and vertical guidance of the same aircraft. In order to carry out the guidance of the aircraft during the descent and approach phases, the FMS (or the crew) relies on an optimized theoretical flight plan (FPLN) which serves as a reference.
