Credit Cards, Escrows Encouraged for E-Auctions

The National Consumers League (NCL) is launching a campaign warning online consumers to pay for Internet auction purchases with a credit card or use an escrow account to reduce the potential for fraud. The recommendation follows a Harris Interactive survey, commissioned by NCL, that concludes that although 94 percent of respondents who have bid on an item on an Internet auction site are somewhat or very confident they will get what they pay for from the seller, 41 percent of online auction buyers have reported having a problem.
