Reply to J.K. Vaurio concerning: Two-stage Bayesian models—application to ZEDB project

We thank Dr. Vaurio for his comments, which echo those of an anonymous referee of the paper. On the basis of the referee's comments, we thought the issue had been adequately dealt with. We regret that Dr. Vaurio now feels that his ideas did not get the attention they deserve.The moment method was not an issue in Germany when we conducted our research for the VGB, but was flagged as one of many methods which have been proposed to deal with failure data from similar plants.
